The roadworks on the corner of Longmeadow and Oxenholme Lanes should be finished soon, but it is only a temporary respite. It was an exploratory excavation to discover why the road had subsided, and revealed that the hardcore was soft and inadequate and that a drain to a soakaway was draining in the wrong direction as a result of the subsidence. The soakaway too needs sorting out. The repair will happen next year.
