Mourning the Queen in Natland

 On Sunday:

  • 8am Holy Communion with a special liturgy for this time of national mourning
  • 10am A Service of Commemoration with music, hymns, anthems and readings including the hymns Be still my soul, The King of love my shepherd is, O thou who camest from above, O God our help in ages past, the anthems O taste and see, Bring us O Lord and God be in my head.  There will be the opportunity to light candles and write in the book of condolence. 
  • 7pm Reading's Reflections & Prayers in church followed by sharing in the national One Minute's Silence at 8pm on the Village Green by the Coronation tree. We will be joined for the silence by Doug Rathbone, Mayor of Kendal.

On Monday:

  • Church will be open from 8.15am 

On Tuesday:

  • the flag will be raised at 8am
  • floral tributes from around the War Memorial will be taken away at 9am
  • the Book of condolence will close at 5pm
