A month of two halves! The first half of the month was exceptionally cold but dry. I recorded -9c overnight on the 14/15th December. Nearly all the rain came in the second half of the month when temperatures were normal. Despite several months of low rainfall, the total for the year was 1394 mm (55.7 ins,) which is only slightly below average. John Dobson.
