St Mark’s is a successful, happy and welcoming rural church school serving children from Natland, Oxenholme, The Oaks and beyond. Ofsted (2011) judged the school ‘Good with outstanding features’ and the number on the roll in April 2014 was 161.
The school hall and kitchen may be hired for events; please contact the school to arrange.
If you are able to support the school in any way – perhaps by looking after the school garden out of term time, making costumes and props for school performances or reading with pupils – the school would always be delighted to hear from you.
Parents and grandparents may be interested to know that the school playing field is available out of school hours to children of the church parish (which includes Oxenholme), by permission of the Governors. The large field, overlooked by housing on Long Meadow Lane, provides a safe environment for play, and there is an attractive and well-equipped adventure playground adjacent. (Children may also use the village green for recreation.)
