Local History Society for Natland & Sedgwick.

There are a number of villages in South Lakes and North Lancashire that have thriving Local History Societies.  It would also seem that in the past there has also been a similar interest in Natland.

It has occurred to me that there might be sufficient interest in Natland & Sedgwick to attempt to establish a Local History Society for Natland & Sedgwick.

I would envisaged that such a society might have three objectives:

Ø               To arrange a series of lectures of local history topics each year.

Ø               To research the history of the two villages in the context of the times and events of the surrounding area.

Ø               Offer help and encouragement to anyone who is researching any aspects of local history.

Should anyone be interested in such a project, I would be more than happy to discuss how we might take this idea forward.
