As the Queens Diamond Jubilee approaches in June how many of our readers remember coronation in 1952 in Natland?
I remember that there was only 2 televisions in Natland so a TV was fixed up in the old school and the whole village were invited to watch the event at Westminster Abbey. At night a large bonfire was lit on the top of Helm. I still have a red memento in the shape of a small shield with a inscription. Natland Coronation Celebrations. Looking forward to this years event and very fortunate to have lived through the Queens 60 year reign. Good luck with any planned event and hopefully good weather in June. Brian Nicholson.
