Highlights from last night's Village Hall Committee meeting

The Village Hall continues to operate in a steady fashion, maintaining a warm and waterproof environment for all the clubs and organisations that meet there. It would be even warmer if users would remember to shut the front doors after themselves.

The amount of money held in the bank has dropped by £553 this month, due to a payment to the Performing Rights Society so that both live and recorded music can be played.

An ongoing mystery which besets the committee is the gradual disappearance of the teaspoons. There were only 33 for the W.I. Coffee Morning, having dwindled from a hundred or more. Twenty have disappeared over the last month. Any light which can be shed on this situation would be welcome.

The Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestlers will be hiring the hall on a Friday for ten weeks after Christmas. Let's just hope that the mystery of the teaspoons will be solved by then, and that they can have sugar in their tea.

The Village Hall Fun Quiz with hot pot supper will held on February 9th and the Annual Art Exhibition will be on the 9th and 10th March.

The winners of the 200 club draw this month are: 1st, no.17, Lucy Lewis; 2nd, no.30, Ronnie Holmes; 3rd, no. 1, Bob Gale.
