Fair Trade and Red Nose Day at St. Mark's Primary School

FAIR TRADE
Fair Trade fortnight was really successful. The children have taken on the key messages and we are keen to continue with this work as a school. Our plan is eventually to apply for Fair Trade School status. The tuck shop will operate each half term, Fair Trade products will be available at most school events and we will continue to look at issues of trade and fair rewards for producers in the curriculum.

RED NOSE DAY: COMIC RELIEF Friday 15th March
Friday is Red Nose Day.  Red Noses will be on sale @ £1 each at morning break each day this week. Children can wear their own clothes on the day (including something ‘funny’ should they wish). Payment for coming in mufti is a donation of chocolate for the Friends’ Chocolate Bingo event next week.

Don’t forget the Year 4 Fair Trade Baking Competition on Friday between 3.00 and 4.00 p.m.

This is an excerpt from a recent letter to parents, giving a flavour of the sorts of activities the children, teachers and parents are involved in.
