South Lakeland District Council announces changes to green waste bin collection
South Lakeland District Council has announced it is aiming to make one green bin collection per household each month until further notice.
Last month, SLDC said that green waste collections were suspended in the South Lakes due to staffing pressures brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The suspension has now been lifted, but green waste bins will only be collected once a month.
SLDC is urging residents to follow these steps: check your collection calendar and leave your green bin out on your next scheduled collection day, if your bin has not been emptied by the end of the day please take it back in present your green bin again on the next scheduled green bin collection day according to your calendar. Saw this a couple of weeks ago. Left ours out for Monday morning but not taken so now hoping for Monday 22nd.
