Village War Memorial to be renovated

Following a request from the PCC of St Mark’s Church, in whose churchyard it sits, the Parish Council agreed last night to cover the cost of renovation of the village war memorial, at an estimated cost of about £450.

John Chandler kindly attended the meeting to provide information about the history of war memorial, first unveiled in August 1921, and the work needed, and to answer councillors’ questions. Chair David Peter’s recommendation that the NPC pay for the work in full was then passed unanimously.
