Encore Concert a Great Hit

From the joys of love from La Traviata, the pains of distrust in the Marriage of Figaro to the bravado of The Pirates of Penzance, this talented and enthusiastic group made the rafters ring in St. Mark's Church last night.

Passers-by who have heard the Encore Opera Group practising in the Church on Wednesday evenings had a chance to see the real thing, and very uplifting it was. What's more £445.60 was raised for the church boiler appeal.

Not to be missed if they come again, or at any of their other concerts.

Opera in Natland on Friday Night

Encore Opera Group present: Opera for a Summer’s Evening in St Mark’s Church on Friday 10 July 2015 at 7.30pm

Tickets are £8, under 16s free, and will be available at the door. Proceeds to the church boiler appeal.

The Encore Opera Group was formed in 1992 by singers who loved performing and listening to opera. It performs classical, romantic and popular opera from the works of the great composers including Mozart, Handel, Puccini and Verdi. For most of its 23 years it has been directed by David Chapman of Giggleswick School.

As well as opera, the programme will include highlights from operettas by Gilbert and Sullivan and from Die Fledermaus. Encore Opera brings its own special blend of passion, romance and drama to the popular operatic repertoire. We hope you will join us for what promises to be a very special musical evening.

An audience member at a recent concert described it as ‘An outstanding evening, wonderful singing, fantastic atmosphere, thoroughly recommend, not to be missed.’
