Jigsaws in Church
The evenings are drawing in, and cheerful pictures requiring careful study and assembling are becoming a priority. So, jigsaws are for sale again on the table at the back of church, raising funds for the North West Air Ambulance. Do come along, choose your favourite, and donate towards the work of this charity.
A Point Of View on the Home Field development.
I hope that the planners are proud of themselves now that the Home Field is being ripped apart. This beautiful field – bought in 1885 with the pennies of children of Carlisle diocese as a playing field for the boys’ home – is being destroyed in the name of ‘development’. In selling the field the Children’s Society shares responsibility for this vandalism. John Inglesfield, Natland
