 With spring just around the corner, new plants are appearing for purchase again in the church porch. A selection of hellebores will appear over the next week or so.

No 40 and 41 buses, Natland into Kendal, aren’t running

The No.40 and 41 buses aren’t running along the top of Oxenholme Lane at the moment though the 41A is still alright for coming back from Kendal. The 567 Kirkby Lonsdale bus is still running.

Stagecoach says: From Monday 15th January, United Utilities are replacing the water main along the full length of Helmside Road. The road will be closed whilst the road works are in place, expected to be 8 - 9 weeks. During this time the 41/41A service will be unable to operate the full route.

41 services will operate normal route and timetable as far as Oxenholme Station. The bus will turn round at the top station entrance and passengers who would normally board on Helmside Road can get on the bus at the Oxenholme Road/Helmside Road junction bus stop. The bus will then return to town via Kendal Parks.

41A services will operate normal route and timetable as far as a temporary bus stop at the A65/Helmside Road junction. The bus will then turn round at the Helm Lane junction before returning to town via the Hospital and Burton Road.

On Sundays, the 40 service will alternate between serving the Hospital on one service and Oxenholme Station on the next service.

Passengers will not be able to travel between Kendal Parks/Oxenholme Station bus stops and the Hospital/ ASDA bus stops directly.
